De zoete verleiding

Antwerp is a beautiful city situated in the heart of Flanders in Belgium. I'm sure that you will absolutely love this town with its cobble-stoned little streets and you will probably want to enter in each and every souvenir shop, restaurant or café, but believe me if you enter everywhere you will end up penniless.

In Antwerp the streets smell of fresh waffles and you will also see the abundance of tourists who all have either waffles or French fries and who can`t resist such a temptation? Waffle shops are everywhere in Antwerp, but if you want to eat really good waffles you should go to De Zoete Verleiding. They have an outside terrace as well so if you are lucky enough to catch a sunny day, you can stay outside as well.

De Zoete Verleiding literally means "the sweet temptation" and it is specialized mainly in cakes, cookies and pastry products, but they have waffles as well. They haven't got any pre-made waffles everything is prepared on the spot according to your order.

As I had a look on the menu I decided instantly that I want waffles with sour cherry sauce. I had to wait for about 10 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The waffle itself was huge, crunchy and you could feel that it was freshly made and the sour cherry sauce went really well with the sweetness of the waffle. They have waffles with many different toppings, like vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce, which you can try if you want something really sweet.

I can only recommend De Zoete Verleiding for everyone who has a sweet tooth and wants to eat a good dessert or try a good waffle. Although compared to the other places in Antwerp the prices are high (about 10€) the quality of the products certainly can't be compared to any other confectionery in Antwerp.Less
