L'Epi Dupin

I was going to a restaurant with a friend rue du Cherche Midi when we passed in front of L'Epi Dupin; I felt a good vibe when looking inside and as soon as we got to the restaurant where we intended to initially go, we decided to come back to L'Epi and try it.

It's just 50 meters away from the Department Store of Le Bon Marché, and what a great idea we had to try this one;
The restaurant is small with a cozy atmosphere, very old traditional parisian building but with a renovation done with great taste. The service is very professional and friendly (so rare nowadays in Paris!).
As usual, I tried to have a look at the kitchen and I was surprised to see that it is as big as the dining room and looked super clean. Good feeling from that side.

They have a 2 or 3 course menu for 26 or 36 EUR, + a menu "dégustation"/Gourmet Taster at 49 EUR.
We went for the menu at 36 EUR and we did well:
- We got offerred a crème de poireaux, very nice and fresh
- Than came the duck Pastilla in the starters, very tasty with lot's of flavours going out;
- The main dishes were both very tasty, whether the Faux Filet or the Sauté de Boeuf, although a bit salty fro the sauté.
- and finally a fantastic Sablé aux Mangues, with fresh Mangos specifically chosen by the Chef as all the products served.
The Chef is very strict on the products used, and he stopped serving fish that are in danger (Mediterannean Tuna,...)

The bread is kneaded and baked in house, which shows the Quality orientation of the Restaurant, who is definitly a great example of the Bistronomie philiosophy; There are 10 employees in the Kitchen for 45 seats in the restaurant!
