Road trip: La Rochelle - Futuroscope - Loire Castles

Here's a nice 4 days road trip from Paris, mixing cultural trourism, nature, historical, leisure for kids and one of the nicest cities in France, namely La Rochelle;

Day 1: Visit Chambord and go to Futuroscope
A- Leave Paris in the morning or mid day and head towards Tours and visit Chateau de Chambord (2 hours drive), one of the most beautiful French Castles. Eat in Chambord.

B- Visit Chenonceau Palace, who is built on a river and offers an amazing perspective. If you leave mid day in Paris, you can do Chateau the Chenonceau on the way back after visiting the Marais Poitevin, in order to make a nice break during the drive back. My preference would be to do it on the way back.

C- Leave Chambord/Chenonceau towards Poitier and arrive to the Futuroscope (2 hours drive). Sleep in one of the hotels of the Futuroscope, have the animated diner in the park and enjoy the night show. You can take the evening ticket and visit the Park from 17th00 to the closure.

Day 2:
C- Pursue the visit the following day and leave in the evening towards La Rochelle; Have diner and sleep in La Rochelle

Day 3:
D- Visit La Rochelle Old Port, city walls, old town;
E- Visit La Rochelle Aquarium, one of the biggest in Europe
F- Head to Rochefort (45 minutes drive) and visit les Corderies Royales and the Hermione ship building, in the same technics they used to do it 3 centuries ago.

Day 4:
G- By some nice fresh products from La Rochelle Market (Cheese, Delicatessen, fruits, wine,...) and head to Marais Poitevin in Coulon; Visit by rowboat this amazing natural canals called the Green Venice. Do a PicNic in one of the places you like while visiting. Leave to Paris early afternoon;

H- Visit Chenonceau on your way back to Paris (2h30 minutes drive)
