Sziget Festival

Since 1993, Budapest is home to one of the biggest music festivals in Europe the Sziget Festival. Every year in August the Sziget Festival brings on stage some of the worlds best performances: Iggy Pop,The Killers, The Prodigy, The Rasmus, Paul van Dyk, Foo Fighters, Rammstein, Green Day, Apocalyptica, HIM, Korn or Prince are just some of the names that entertained the Sziget fans.
Due to its great impact in 2002 the festival was organized in Transylvania/ Romania also under the name Peninsula / Félsziget Festival.
As a festival that respects itself the Sziget Festival offers its visitors many more activities than music: tattooing, volleyball, dance and cinema, rock climbing, bungee jumping and other sorts are just some of the activities that you can do here.
I would recommend this festival not only for the line up but also for the experience of a great festival in a great city that Budapest is.
The ticket prices are, I would say, acceptable and you can pay for a day or for a weekly pass with both camping or no-camping access. Less
